There'll be time to explore, share meals, enjoy gentle walks, discover beautiful places and simply relax together.
And when you want some time to yourself? That's absolutely fine too.

There's time to wake naturally, enjoy breakfast and ease into the day with good company and no pressure.
Some days we'll wander through Tavira's quiet streets, stop for a drink by the river or take a gentle walk along the coast.
Other days might bring a short boat trip, a relaxed lunch, or simply time to pause and enjoy where you are.
Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced.
Evenings are about connection, sharing food, stories and laughter, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment as the day winds down.
It's not about doing more.
It's about enjoying what you do, fully and at your own pace.
Meet Karen
Travel has always been something I've loved, not just seeing new places, but how it feels. Slower mornings, time outdoors, good food and those simple moments that stay with you long after you return home.
I've spent many years travelling independently, and while there's a lot I love about travelling solo, I also understand the part people don't always talk about.
Arriving somewhere new on your own can be exciting, but there are also times when you'd simply like someone to share a meal, a walk or a conversation with at the end of the day. I've felt that too.
That's what led me to create Footsteps & Friendships.
After relocating from the UK to Tavira, I fell in love with the slower pace of life here, the beautiful streets, the river, the beaches, the cafés and the simple pleasure of taking time to enjoy where you are. Tavira is now my home, and I'm looking forward to sharing the place I've come to love with others.
As your host, I'll be here to welcome you, bring everyone together and help you settle in from the moment you arrive. My hope is that nobody feels like they're walking into an established group because everyone is arriving on their own.
For me, Footsteps & Friendships is about creating the kind of holiday I'd want to join myself. Somewhere you can arrive solo, feel comfortable, enjoy good company and still have the freedom to be yourself.
